The Slabs We Install
Depending on your project area and requirements, we will install either a ground or waffle slab at your home.
A ground slab:
- The simplest slab we install
- Requires stable ground
- Typically has a thickness of 100mm
When we install a ground slab, we first dig trenches around the perimeter of the site before pouring concrete to form a stiffening beam. All our ground slabs are equipped with moisture and termite protection, drainage and electrical conduit.
A waffle slab:
- A popular option
- Cheaper & easier to install
- About 30% less concrete than other types of slabs
When we install a waffle slab, we make up a grid of polystyrene blocks and pour concrete over the top. With a waffle slab, the concrete is reinforced with mesh to prevent cracking over time.
